What is involved with an eye test?
To find out more about what happens during your eye test and how to prepare for the examination please see our eye examination section
We can conduct your eye test in your own home, a relatives home, nursing home, residential home or day centre.

We can also provide an eye test at your place of work.

How do I prepare my home for the eye test?
We have very few requirements for carrying out an eye test in your home or office.
1. We need is a private room, which can be darkened to carry out the eye examination.
2. Ideally there should be 3 metres of space in front of the person’s chair and enough space on either side so that we can get to both sides of the person having the eye examination.  Access to a plug socket maybe needed. Any minor movement of furniture, which may be required within the room to facilitate the sight test, will be rectified prior to leaving.

What if I have had a recent sight test?
Make sure that you have been tested. We will always recheck the results if we are making up the spectacles

What is glaucoma?

Inside the eye fluid is constantly produced and constantly drained away. In glaucoma either too much fluid is produced or the drainage channels are blocked so the pressure builds up in the eye.

Generally you should have your eyes tested every two years, however as you age or have certain eye conditions the interval may become more regular.
